What to Expect
With your day ticket you’ll discover the past as you explore the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County’s world-class Dinosaur Hall with over 300 real fossils, 20 complete dinosaurs, and ancient sea creatures.

The Museum also features the world’s only Tyrannosaurus rex growth series. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how scientists work on fossils in the Dino Lab and watch as dinosaurs come to life in the Dinosaur Encounters show.

Learn how Los Angeles came to be in the Becoming Los Angeles exhibit.

Discover nature on a stroll through 3.5 acres of the Nature Gardens to find hidden secrets and the wildlife the space attracts. Learn more about local plants and animals in the Nature Lab.

Follow an epic evolutionary story that spans 65 million years. See 240 specimens in the Age of Mammals, including skeletons from mastodons to whales, and animal dioramas from North America and Africa and more.

The Gem and Mineral Hall houses over 2,000 spectacular specimens, and in the vault you can see diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and other exquisite gems.

You can also upgrade to a combination ticket that includes admission to the La Brea Tar Pits and the Page Museum as well.

A visit to La Brea Tar Pits and the Page Museum is a combined indoor-outdoor experience that takes you through the world’s only active, urban Ice Age excavation site. Discover the mysteries hidden right below the city.

Explore the park that includes the iconic Lake Pit and the tar pits, where Ice Age fossils dating back 10,000-40,000 were discovered. You can see tar bubbling and seeping through the surface. Walk through the Pleistocene Garden and visit fossil excavation sites to see what discoveries the excavators have uncovered today.

Everything on display at the Page Museum was found in the La Brea Tar Pits. This is where the best fossils, animals, and plants discovered here are showcased. You’ll see mammoths, saber-toothed cats, dire wolves, and more. Watch paleontologists working in the Fossil Lab and see what it’s like to get stuck in the tar with the tar pull.
