    1. Newport Beach: 2-Hour Whale Watching Tour

On these year-round cruises off Newport Beach, many whale varieties are regularly seen including the giant blue whale (summer and fall), finback whale, grey whale (winter and spring), minke whale, and humpback whale. Several types of dolphin, seals, and all sorts of other marine life are typically spotted on the excursions as well. The cruises depart from Newport Harbor, located in the heart of Orange County, which is just a short drive from both Los Angeles and San Diego. Each cruise is a unique experience as you may never know what you might encounter. A recent cruise encountered a pod of more than 30 killer whales, including adults and their young, making for a whale watching adventure of a lifetime. The cruises enjoy a 96 percent success rate viewing whales and/or dolphin.

  • Marina Del Rey: Kayak and Paddleboard Tour with Sea Lions

    2. Marina Del Rey: Kayak and Paddleboard Tour with Sea Lions

Start your tour at Mother's Beach. Your guide will provide information about the local environment and marine life, kayaking/paddle-boarding techniques, and safety while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Los Angeles boaters realm. Then board your kayaks and paddle towards the main channel of the Marina. On the way, observe the beautiful and extraordinary boats. Begin your search for sea lions, birds, dolphins, and other marine life.

  • Santa Catalina Island: Nautilus Semi-Submarine Cruise

    3. Santa Catalina Island: Nautilus Semi-Submarine Cruise

Join the captain and crew and set off on a 45-minute exploratory mission through Lover's Cove, a State Marine Conservation Area sanctuary. Traverse amazing undersea gardens and ocean habitats in a semi-submersible vessel designed after America's first nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, on a trip that is both educational and entertaining. Let your imagination descend into the depths of the ocean as you explore the magic and wonder of undersea life on the Nautilus. Venture into the ocean and through the kelp forest in a state-of-the-art vessel. Learn about what you see with the crew and research team, and let them entertain you with their stories. As you learn and explore, interact with the fish through a specially designed feeding system. Launch fish food torpedoes right from your seat (at an additional cost) and instigate feeding frenzies right outside your personal porthole.

Such a unique experience. My husband and I travel often and have never done anything like this! They take you to three different spots and you can see the kelp and different fish. Although you do see the same fish and kelp at each spot, it was still pretty awesome to see the fish up that close. I don't foresee myself ever snorkeling or scuba diving, so it was amazing to see the oceanlife. The guide was informative but he was not required to wear a mask, so him coming up to talk to us was a bit unsettling. Also, if you order mobile tickets you are still required to checkin and get your tickets printed. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend if visiting Catalina island!

Overall it was a good experience would like to stay a bit longer at Pebble Beach & Carmel. The San Francisco day was excellent. I would skip the City Hall and would prefer more a stop at Golden Gate Park or at Muir Woods. The Yosemite day was great the only problem we had was an Austrian couple was late by 25 minutes from our first El Capitan stop. This made coming back to Los Angeles very late.

My wife and I booked this cruise as part of our trip to LA to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. It was worth the price. The staff were great and so was the food, ambience, nonstop champagne, and lots to see. Now we know why California is the place every one wants to come for fun, good eats, great cruises, and friendly people. If there's one thing I would ask is that there were some kind of narrative provided to let those of us who do not know much about what we're seeing and experiencing, get some knowledge especially key points of the cruise. My wife and I will be back, but for the dinner cruise...we highly recommend this cruise to anyone. Couple from North Carolina Feb 2018

One of the best memories from my LA trip! I booked this tour as a single participant and we had a small group of four people total. Stephen was our guide and he was absolutely amazing! He is very knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and even told us some cool stories about the local boats. I was able to get the equipment (a single kayak) that I initially requested. The paddle on the way out was easy as we were going with the current, on the way back it was a little bit harder but I expected some kind of a workout and Stephen also informed us about that, so it felt perfect overall. We spotted multiple sea lions enjoying themselves on the docks and were able to take a few cool pics with our phones. We also saw a few huge beautiful yachts in the main channel. I can recommend this experience to everyone who loves animals as this is a prefect way to see them in their natural habitat. Very peaceful and worth to do experience.
