  • From Santiago: Portillo Inca Lagoon and San Esteban Vineyard

    1. From Santiago: Portillo Inca Lagoon and San Esteban Vineyard

Start with pickup from your hotel in Santiago by a professional guide. Travel through spectacular scenery to one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Andes mountains, Portilla Inca Lagoon. Capture photographs of the water’s iridescent turquoise surface and listen to poignant legends of Incan royalty. Marvel at the archaeological park located in a hill in the middle of San Esteban Vineyard in which you will explore walking trails and find its various petroglyphs which belong to the Aconcagua culture. Ascend to the vertiginous altitude of Hotel Portillo ski resort to take in the verdant beauty of San Esteban Vineyard before pleasuring enjoying some samples of local wine.

Our guide Michelle and driver Jimmy were really great! Michelle is from the US so she speaks perfect English. Wear hiking boots!!! I had no idea there was a short uphill hike at the winery and did not wear proper footwear. The tour itinerary should be completely reversed. The mountain stop should be first, followed by the wine visit. 2 reasons: the road leading up the mountain is extremely curvy, I did not feel well after drinking wine. The second is that there is no bathroom stop for 2.5 hours from the mountain to the city, me and another traveler felt like our bladders were going to burst!

You will get to meet the official pet of Portillo Ski Center, a big St Bernard, which welcomes you to the start of your visit.  You will then have free time to visit the ski resort and the marvelous Inca Lagoon which is located between the mountains, this lagoon also has a beautiful history about an Incan King attached to it. You are also able to take the ski lift and enjoy ...

It started off with a hump. The guide came an hour earlier in the morning because the lack of communication between him, the admin services and me. It happened to me in Bueno Aires as well. I twice got the email for pick up time later than the guide suppose to pick up. Apart from that this trip is thoroughly recommended. The guide is extremely knowledgable and professional. We have seen the most beautiful part of Andes. The lunch was expensive and not very nice.

Perfect organization, very punctual, both on departure and return, Luiz guide very nice and professional. A very pleasant day in the Aconcagua valley; in February there is no snow, however you can admire a splendid panorama with the Inca lagoon.

Laguna de Inca is well worth a day visit , also a great way to see a bit of the country on the way there

We love it, you guys are very good (Professionals).
