What You'll Do
  • Marvel at the mysterious Neolithic stone circle at Stonehenge
  • Visit Runnymede, where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215
  • See Windsor Castle, the Queen’s favorite residence
Overview
Enjoy a day exploring the legendary stone circle of Stonehenge, visiting historic Runnymede, and admiring Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park. With a mix of inspiring landscapes, rolling hills, and ancient castles, you’ll experience the real England.
What to Expect
On this full-day tour you’ll leave from central London and travel west through historic Wessex, one of England’s oldest regions, en route to the Neolithic standing stone circle of Stonehenge.

When you arrive at the award-winning Stonehenge visitor center, you’ll have the opportunity to view the hundreds of prehistoric items from the Stonehenge collection before joining the land train shuttle that will take you to the legendary stone circle.

You’ll return to the River Thames at Runnymede, where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215, founding the basis for the modern rule of law. You’ll also find a number of important monuments at Runnymede, including the Royal Air Force Memorial.

From here it’s just a short drive through Windsor Great Park to the royal town of Windsor, home to one of Her Majesty the Queen’s most impressive residences.

During your stop in Windsor you can visit the Castle and the State Apartments, and on certain days you may be able to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony.

Alternatively, you can follow the free self-guided Windsor and Eton Heritage Trail or take a boat trip on the river (seasonal). Then, from Windsor it’s just a short relaxing drive back into Central London.

Note that on certain dates the tour may stop in Marlow for lunch rather than Henley on Thames.
