What to Expect
Located on the banks of the River Thames, Shakespeare’s Globe is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse designed in 1599, where many of Shakespeare’s plays were performed. Included in your ticket is a self-guided visit to the exhibition, and a guided tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium. A complimentary exhibition audio guide is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Mandarin and Japanese.

Based under the Globe Theatre, the engaging exhibition explores the life of Shakespeare, the London he lived in, and the theater for which he wrote. Listen as expert storytellers provide fascinating facts about the auditorium and vividly recreating colorful stories of the 1599 Globe, as well as the reconstruction process of the 1990s.

During the 30-minute guided tour, you will see how the "Wooden O" works today as an imaginative and experimental space. Tours are conducted in English, and complimentary information sheets are provided in French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Romanian, Greek, Hungarian and Czech.
