Depart the Melbourne CBD (Central Business District) early in the morning, and travel inland to arrive at the "Shipwreck Coast" before the rest of the tour buses arrive. See the beautiful limestone rocks of the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and Gibson Steps without the crowds. Hear the story of Loch Ard as you step down into a gorge carved by the Southern Ocean over hundreds of years. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of these breathtaking spots. Then, drive back along the Great Ocean Road, waving at the other tour buses as they pass in the opposite direction. Stretch your legs in the Otway Ranges on a guided rainforest walk amongst some of the tallest tree species in the world. Drive back to the coastal road and visit the seaside town of Apollo Bay. Overall the general day was good but the main feature, 12 Apostles, was very disappointing because of cloud/mist cover. The principle of getting there early to avoid the crowds is great if you get to see the main attraction. I thought given the weather the trip could have been slightly re-arranged to ensure main feature was viewable. The other events on the day, Koalas was good but you seem to cram a great deal into the day not always getting enough time at the main features.
Leave the city heading over the Westgate Bridge bright and early to maximize your time on the Great Ocean Road. After just over an hour’s drive, stop on a popular surf beach near the town of Anglesea for morning coffee. Take a short drive before stopping at Memorial Arch, which commemorates the returned soldiers who worked on the construction of the 151–mile stretch of road following World War I. Continue along the Great Ocean Road taking in the spectacular ocean, beach and cliff views. Your guide will help you spot koalas among the eucalyptus trees, as you journey along this famous coastline. After lunch, the road and the ocean part ways for the next few hours as you head into the Otway Rainforest. Take a short 30-minute guided walk right into the heart of the rainforest. Feel dwarfed by some of the largest tree species in the world. Wind further through the forest and return to the o...
The tour is really nice, and I have enjoyed it a lot! The driver/guide John was great! However, there is no enough time to enjoy the locations (understandable due to the distance/traveling time from/to Melbourne). Thank you for the Ocean road experience!

Super guide (Sylvain), sufficient stops to be able to admire the main points planned during the excursion, it is really necessary to make this excursion under the sun or a clear sky because it would be a shame to see the 1st apostles and the forest in the dark
The driving was great by the driver and he was very nice to me and very helpful considering I had a blister on my left foot. The whole day was great except the weather wasn't and I did what was expected
Scott was fantastic and doing the trip in reverse meant that we avoided the crowds at 12 apostles. Exactly as advertised.
The tour overall was excellent. Our tour guide Shannara (42) was very friendly and knowledgeable
Everything was good and places where we were are beautiful
