Enjoy a walk along the magical streets of Ljubljana on this food tour, as you hear about the city’s culture and history and savor some delectable snacks. Take in sweeping city views from a rooftop café and then taste local cheeses, wines and more.
What to Expect
Head to the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and discover its essence through its food and wine on this 3-hour tour.
Ljubljana is one of Europe’s most underrated destinations, so in addition to getting a behind-the-scenes look into local life, you’ll also be exploring a place in a way that few travelers have done before.
You’ll start the city adventure with stunning views across the city from a café on top of one of the most prominent buildings. Order a glass of the local wine and possibly a slice of a traditional cake and hear stories of life in Slovenia during the times of the former Yugoslavia, and how the country has changed since it became independent.
Continue your Ljubljana day tour in a neighborhood that locals consider to be one of the most picturesque and idyllic in the city. With a tiny canal running through it, a beautiful church and cosy little restaurants and bars situated under chestnut trees, this area is overflowing with charm.
Along the way you’ll stop at a couple of popular bars to savor some delicious local cheeses and charcuterie platters. Most wines on offer are carefully handpicked by the owners from small wineries around Slovenia, giving you the chance to try varieties that are hard to find elsewhere.
Stop at Prešeren Square in the very heart of the city. Admire the views of the Triple Bridge and Ljubljana Castle on one side, and a magnificent Franciscan church on the other. Your local guide will tell you about the love story behind the main statue in the square, which is dedicated to France Prešeren, a famous Slovenian romantic poet.
Your Ljubljana tour ends here and your local guide will be happy to give you directions back to your accommodation, or anywhere else in Ljubljana that you might like to see.
