Very informative and fun... a great way to spend an afternoon!

Natalie was very knowledgeable about the pre Manhatten culture. However I would add one tip. When talking about the Africans' contribution to the society, it was much more than nannies and maids. The Africans were instrumental in colonizing the area... the buildings, roads, farming etc. They provided the free labor required (since the society was so poor) in transforming the marshy land into the beginnings of the commercial empire it has become.

Very pleasant tour with a great tour-guide

The voucher indicated that the tour would start at 5:30PM and participants requested to show up 15 minutes earlier. However, the tour didn't start until 6:00PM and it looked like it was planned that way. We found it unfortunate to have to wait for approx. 45 minutes for the tour to start. Overall, it was a great tour. Our tour-guide, Steve, did an excellent job. He was very enthusiastic and knew a great deal about this fantastic city. The boat ride to the Statue of Liberty was also very informative. The dinner at the restaurant was ok, but nothing spectacular. If not for this tour, we would never have visited the Top of the Rock observatory and it was quite amazing. Between the two observatory, Top of the Rock and Empire State Building, we preferred the first one.
