Full description
Learn about the rich history of Lisbon on a guided half-day tour by bus. You will visit Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, Jerónimos Monastery, the Coach Museum, and cultural squares in the city. You'll receive an enlightening survey of gorgeous Lisbon. Making your way to the Belém quarter, you'll discover this jewel in Lisbon's crown. Located where the Tagus River meets the Atlantic, Belém is the launching point for Portugal's 15th- and 16th-century maritime explorations. Situated amongst modern exhibits and busy cafes are historical sites and monuments that defined an empire. Visit Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and icon of the Age of Discovery, as well as the Monument to the Discoveries. Next, you'll be awed by the masterful Manueline architecture of Jerónimos Monastery, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby you'll find the Coach Museum, housing the most important collection of old carriages in the world. Since they're closed on Mondays, on this day of the week these 2 stops will be replaced by a visit to the extravagant Ajuda National Palace, one of the earliest neoclassical buildings in Lisbon, fronted by 23 marble statues. Continue along the river to the traditional district of Alfama. Passing by downtown Baixa, you can admire the most important squares of Lisbon: Trade, Rossio, and Restauradores. Then drive along the Avenida da Liberdade, the 'boulevard' of Lisbon, to finish at Pombal Square.

Fast morning

We took the tour with a guide who had a very good grasp of the history of each place we visited, which was well worth it. They managed the time well and the tour was very fruitful. The places visited were well chosen and gave us the opportunity to choose where to return later. I recommend.

Half-day sightseeing tour of Lisbon by coach

Cordial and entertaining guide, provides information on the different places that are visited. Adequate transportation. Recommended tour to visit the most emblematic places of Lisbon in a single tour if you have little time or if you do not have your own transport. Very beautiful landscapes. You visit the carriage museum (entrance included) and enter the free part of the Jeronimos Monastery with accompaniment and live commentary through audio guide. Infallible: try the Bethlehem cakes !!!

As seniors, this tour offered just enough walking with most of what we wanted to see of LISBON CITY CENTER and comfort of an enclosed bus because the weather in November was quite wet.
