We were the first two tour participants of Manuelo since the lockdown. It was a bit special in the beginning, as special hygiene measures have to be observed here as well. But when we were able to start, the atmosphere was very quickly relaxed and easy. Our tour was really exciting and we passed very cool street art spots that we would never have been able to discover like this. Manuel was very friendly and also told us something about the history behind the artworks.
Joao was a super great guide overall - personality, knowledge and expertise. Not only he gave us a lesson on street art and showed us the works around the city with a nice walking tour. But also gave us nice insights and small bits about the history of the city as well as recommendations on where to eat. Excellent overall experience recommend if you would like to do some walking around the city, explore the arty side of inner Lisbon
The tour gave us a good impression of the street art not only in the city centre but also in the suburbs. That's actually the main reason why i would recommend this tour. The (at least concering tourists) not crowded neighbourhoods of Lisbon connected with the habitants we've met gave us a better understanding of the differnt art works.
Street Art Tour: MUST do this with a vehicle (eg, minivan). Some of the great street arts are located far in between, and inaccessible by plain walking. Guide/Driver: Pedro gave us insights that are priceless. We were able to communicate with him days before the tour to answer our concerns.
By far the best thing I did in the 5 days I was in Lisbon, this was an amazing experience and unique way to experience both past and current social and economic issues street artists tackle in their work. Guaranteed you’ll learn about a side of the city’s culture you won’t see elsewhere.
