What to Expect
Enjoy this day tour that will take you to one of the most scenic places in Portugal. The pick-up will be done right at your accomodation and the best way to start the day is by crossing the 25th of April Bridge and seeing the Christ King statue up high looking at the river and embracing the capital.
Arriving in Azeitão, you will taste a local pastry and a typical Portuguese coffee while you chat with your guide about life in Portugal and learn the customs. The place where you'll stop is owned by locals and every morning fresh chesse and bread is delivered. With your bellies full and maybe wanting one more pastry, it's time to visit a famous wine cellar run by a Portuguese family and learn all about the sweet wine Moscatel. Learn why the cellar has belonged to this family for so many generations and why they have some of the most famous wines in the world. Finish your cellar tour with a wine tasting.
Your day will continue on to Setúbal, famous for its sardines and cuttlefish, and where you'll get a chance to see where the river meets the ocean. You'll be able to tell by the color of the water. See Tróia island and, if you're lucky, a fisherman in his daily activity. Enjoy a typical lunch in this picturesque town. After a typical Portuguese Sunday lunch, your afternoon will be spent traveling the mountains of Arrábida, where some movies were shot. Discover Arrábida's secrets during the afternoon and see the New Convent. Embrace the energy of this mountain and be delighted by the crystal clear water beaches and breathtaking lanscapes of this natural park.
