Discover the historic monuments, natural landscapes, and fabulous gastronomy of Lisbon, Cascais, and Sintra on a full-day tour. Taste pastries in Lisbon, savor fish dishes near Cabo da Roca, marvel at spectacular views, and explore Pena Palace and Park.
What to Expect
This 8-hour tour that’s priced for one person begins with a 09:00 pick-up at your accommodation in Lisbon, followed by a short ride to Fábrica de Pastéis de Belém, one of the most famous pastry shops in Portugal.
Next you’ll take a ride along the Marginal, the national route, and enjoy magnificent sea views on way to Cascais. You'll stop for a short visit in Cascais.
Continue along the coast to Cabo da Roca, passing Guincho Beach, where you’ll have the opportunity to watch the windsurfers at one of the windiest beaches in the world.
At Cabo da Roca you’ll be able to admire the views from the westernmost point of the European continent. Afterwards, you’ll be taken to a special place for a magnificent lunch at one of the best fish restaurants in Portugal – also boasting spectacular views. The chef recommends the fish soup and the grilled sea bass, as well as a variety of other local fish.
After lunch you’ll visit Pena Palace, one of Portugal’s most interesting monuments. Built in the 16th century as a monastery, it was transformed into a summer residence by King Ferdinand II. He also commissioned an impressive park that surrounds the residence.
From here you’ll head to the Village of Sintra, where you can visit the palace or enjoy a walk in the natural surroundings and admire the summer houses of nobles, with the Quinta da Regaleira being one of the top examples. The last gastronomic experience of the day is at the Travesseiros, for a taste of the famous periquita pastry.
Then it will be time to sit back and relax and enjoy a pleasant ride back to your Lisbon accommodation.
