Discover Azeitão on this day trip from Lisbon, and visit some of the top wineries in this important wine region. On this carefully designed tour you’ll have the opportunity to tour the cellars of 4 wine producers, tasting more than 10 quality wines.
What to Expect
The first stop on your wine country excursion is the José Maria da Fonseca cellars, a 100 per cent family owned company, now managed by the 6th generation. The company is a leader in the areas of production and marketing of table wines.

JMF is the oldest producer of Setúbal Muscat, and there is no better place to taste this unique wine of exemplary quality. The tasting here includes a visit to the secular house museum of the cellars, founded in 1834.

Not far away you’ll come to the second stop, Quinta da Bacalhoa, one of the farms established with the theme of Art, Wine, Passion. Bacalhôa Portugal Wines, SA, is one of the largest and most innovative wineries in Portugal, and over the years has developed a wide range of wines earning a solid reputation with domestic and international consumers alike.

Visit the Bacalhôa Palace, where you can admire a priceless art collection, and the Quinta da Bassaqueira, and enjoy a traditional wine tasting.

Next you’ll head to the scenic Arrábida mountains, where you’ll take in views of the crystal blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Make a short stop in Setúbal before continuing on to Palmela to visit the Quinta do Piloto. Quinta do Piloto is a family vineyard situated in the top wine producing area of Palmela.

The next stop is Venâncio Costa Lima, one of the oldest wineries in the Palmela region, dating back to 1914. This family winery is now on its 4th generation. It produces some well-known wines, ranging from table wines up to demarcated wines, and you’ll have the opportunity to sample typical regional products in addition to tasting traditional wines.

After your final wine tasting you’ll be transferred back to your centrally located hotel or the cruise port in Lisbon.
