Visit the beautiful Alentejo. Evora (UNESCO) offers a quaint historic center, where you can visit the Cathedral, University, Bone Chapel. Almendres Cromlech: a 96 stone circle 5000-4000 BC. Monsaraz: an open sky museum with whitewashed houses and shale.
What to Expect
Marvel at the Almendres Cromlech, Portugal's largest megalithic monument, dating back to between 5000 and 4000 B.C. Set among oak and cork trees, the cromlech consists of 95 menhirs (large upright standing stones) arranged in two circles, and was once used for sacred pagan rituals.

You'll also visit Evora, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Walk through the beautiful city center on whitewashed medieval streets with blue and yellow stripes. Discover iconic landmarks such as the Palace of King Manuel, São Francisco Church and the adjoining Bones Chapel, Geraldo Square, the 13th-century Cathedral of Evora, the 1st-century Roman Temple, the Royal Jesuit University, and the Church of Graça.

Visit the charming village of Arraiolos and see beautiful hand-embroidered tapestries, a 16th-century convent, and typical Alentejo architecture, including a castle.

Finally, visit a traditional Portuguese winery with noble origins. Walk through the vineyards, cellar, carriages museum, mansion, and gardens, and top it all off by tasting some of the winery's best wines.
