Our museum: The museum consists of 7 exhibition rooms and therefore 7 themes: and although each of the themes stands on its own, they all ultimately flow into each other. The focus is on Wilhering Abbey and its history, the spirituality of the Cistercians, their motto "ora et labora" and the great personalities of the abbey. Special emphasis has been placed on providing visitors with two levels of information: - Overview information on the theme of each room, and the opportunity to delve deeper into individual topics according to their interests. - In addition, various interactions provide an entertaining tour for younger visitors. (Quote: Lydia Altmann, curator of the exhibition) The collegiate church and cloister, the courtyard and the park are freely accessible. The gate with café, shop and the Benedict Hall are located in the former farm of the abbey, as is the abbey museum. The Abbey Gate is a place of arrival, hospitality and encounter. The abbey café offers self-service cakes, coffee, drinks and abbey snacks (we prefer regional suppliers). The Monastery Store sells products such as wine from our leased vineyards near Krems.

You will also spot the white marble Holy Trinity Column, which was erected in the 18th-century as a monument of gratitude for protecting the city from the last great wave of plague in Central Europe. Finally, you will get on board the MS Linzerin ship to go on a 100 minutes long cruise along the Danube River. You can choose between a guided and non-guided cruise. During the guided option, your guide will point out the most important buildings along the way, such as the futuristic glass buildings of the Ars Electronica Center, the Lentos Art Museum and the famous copper concert hall “Brucknerhaus.” You will also discover the fantastic views of wide nature reserves and the harbour quarter. During the non-guided cruise option, the guide will take you to the ship's departure point. You will have the best time admiring the amazing views with your family or friends. Whether or not you’re a fan of The Sound of Music’, take advantage of your stay in Vienna and visit Salzburg.
