What people are saying about Liberdade Square
The two available tours are okay and you can visit all the (known) POI in Porto. Buses will come every 30 minutes and that is also okay. Usually you're spending your holidays when using a service like that. So you're not in a hurry. What I didn't like was the fact that the routes and maps (and the wine tastings) offered at the website are outdated. There are no wine tastings included and the routes are different "now" (I have no idea when they changed it - even ticket information was "suprised"). The map we received at TI was from 2017. So for at least a year no one was able to "adjust" the website. To be honest this might have been the first time a website is outdated and a printed map is more up to date at a service that is mostly booked over the internet. But to get back to the positive side: Tours are interesting and informative. There are enough stops to get to the POIs. Maybe the service time in the evening could be extended. But that's just a sidenote.
Generally a good product, however, some of the actual benefits listed on the documentation received when collecting the Porto card differed from that advertised on Booking.com - instances included visits that were listed on Booking.com as free, you only received a discount and some discounts were less than advertised on Booking.com. It was obvious that the website was not being kept updated. Collection at Porto airport was also problematic - I purchased a 4-day pass (a 4-day travel card) which the representative initially refused to issue due to running out of stock, after much discussion I was issued with a 1-day travel card and a 3-day travel card - so was able to get about without having to visit the main tourism office in central Porto.
We enjoyed the HOHO tour very much. The buses came around on a regular basis. The seating was comfortable. The stops were appropriate and convenient. The drivers were so kind and helpful. The commentary was good. The music between commentary was appropriate and pleasant. We encountered a problem on only one bus where the audio wasn't working, but it didn't detract at all. We just looked around and enjoyed the view.
This was a lovely tour. I knew nothing about the city before my visit. I arrived by bus and metro from Galicia and went straight on the bus. I learnt so much in just one 90min period. Later I went walking around my favourite places and had a great meal. I found the local people so friendly and welcoming. This city has a lot to offer.
Great time. Shame that in some places on the bus the speakers didnt work, or the sound was bad. The roots were great and the bus drivers wrre very nice!
