Visit the Telica Volcano, one of Nicaragua's most active volcanoes, on an 8-hour trip from León. Depart at 14:00, walking for 3-4 hours until you reach the foot of the volcano. Then begin a 1-2 climb up to the crater. The climb will be steep but not entirely difficult. Along the way you'll see plenty of native vegetation and have the opportunity to take in the views. Before reaching the crater, cross a beautiful valley with grass, trees, and stones. At the top, watch and the sunset, a truly magnificent site. The colonial city presents its own tourist attractions that make it a famous destination, and visited by national and foreign tourists, such as the famous Cathedral, also known as the Basílica Catedral de la Asunción de León. Some illustrious characters of the Nicaraguan nation are buried in it and the best known worldwide is our poet Rubén Darío. Then we will go to the Fundación Ortiz Gurdian Arts Center, this historic site has two restored colonial buildings, each building houses different exhibitions of painting, sculpture and contemporary crafts, after a brief tour of its streets, we will go to the beach of las Peñitas to enjoy our lunch and enjoy this beautiful beach that has been ranked among the 10 best beaches in Central America. We had a nice private tour, there were no other tour goers! Nice luck! A super nice guide, who paid attention to details. It was about 45 km drive, quite a bumper road, which you really couldn't have driven through with a normal car. Many birds spotted along the way. Meney took his time. To take a picture. The moth moth spotted. The drive to the Telica volcano took 1.5 hours! There we went to climb 800 meters up to the volcano. Very nice to see and to smell the sulfur fumes. Stinks pretty bad. Meney took the time to take pictures of us. Then walked to a cave and spotted meat mice. Then photographed the sunset. Then down again from the volcano. My partner fell on the way back. That was bad luck. Nothing serious, fortunately. Our guide still took care of the wound. And on the way back by car we drove past the Farmacia on Leon. All in all a great experience. Can recommend it. Watch out for the descent. You can fall ugly.

great experience! Our guide was Henry, super nice he filmed us during the descent and took our picture. in addition we did not know that the reservation was valid for sledges when we wanted surfboards but the manager was able to arrange for us to take the surfboards anyway so great! the climb is not very difficult and once at the top it's magical you can feel the heat of the volcano emanating from the ground it's an incredible feeling! and thank you to Henry for this afternoon and for having made us discover the zapote fruit which is excellent! in short, I recommend 100%
