Gruyères is one of the most famous places situated in the Swiss countryside. Visiting it is like taking a great big breath of fresh air. Always invigorating, this is a real historic, exciting and attractive destination. You will see the real Switzerland, green fields, cows and mountains. Have the chance to have a culinary journey. Fall into the temptation of the best chocolate in the world. Taste the national cheese and wine: the most famous of Swiss delicacies. Start with the chocolate world of Cailler, understand the history of chocolate, how they make it and enjoy tasting it as much as you like. At noon you will reach the top of Moléson Mountain and have a tasting in a typical Swiss chalet, a friendly handmade cheese factory. You will taste the famous Gruyères cheese and the “Vacherin Fribourgeois," two cheeses mixed for a typical dish of Swiss fondue. In the afternoon, spend some free time strolling the medieval village of Gruyères. Situated on a hill, you can admire a breathtaking landscape. Our guide Thomas went above and beyond to be friendly, accommodating and keeping it a relaxed trip while still getting us places on time. The driving was safe throughout the trip. We very much enjoyed each of the individual aspects of the packager: the chocolate factory tour, cheese factory tour, fondue lunch, time in the village of Gruyere and the Golden Pass train ride. Each was unique and a true taste of Switzerland. My only slight dissatisfaction was that the tour was described as being 10 hours but only lasted about 8. I believe this was because it actually started in Geneva and we were picked up in Lausanne. However, the next day we ran into Thomas on his tour of Glacier 3000. It was because of his encouragement that I decided to conquer my fears and ride the cable car to the top of Les Diablerets. If not for him including us with his two guests for the day I would have missed out on an amazing experience! Heartfelt thanks to Thomas be being an extraordinary guide!

Great experience!

23 April 2018

The whole activity is nice, but I wish we had more time to visit the village of Gruyères. We only had 1h, so we had to rush the visit of the castle and couldn't visit the village itself. Visiting the chocolate factory was awesome!
