Take a tour through some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Southwest on your journey to Bryce Canyon, where you can admire the Hoodoos (rock formations) and walk along the rim of this natural wonder and seemagnificent sandstone cliffs at Zion Park
What to Expect
Zion National Park is located along the edge of a region known as the Colorado Plateau. The rock layers have been uplifted, tilted, and eroded, forming a feature called the Grand Staircase, a series of colorful cliffs stretching between Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon.
The bottom layer of rock at Bryce Canyon is the top layer at Zion, and the bottom layer at Zion is the top layer at the Grand Canyon. To experience Zion, you need to walk among the towering cliffs, or challenge your courage in a small narrow canyon. See East Temple, the Court of the Patriarchs and the Great White Throne. These unique Navajo sandstone cliffs range in color from cream, to pink, to red. They could be described as sand castles crowning desert canyons. View the massive canyon walls as they ascend toward a brilliant blue sky.
Travel through the 1.1 mile Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel, constructed in the 1920s to connect Zion National Park to the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon.
A trip in the Southwest is not compete without a trip to Bryce Canyon. This tour will take you through the amazing Arizona Strip. With a view as impressive as one from the floor of the Grand Canyon , but without a few thousand feet hike to see it, the Arizona Strip provides an ideal combination of beauty and accessibility. We also will travel through Utah State's most beautiful scenery byway of State Route 14. Along this highway, at some points, our vehicle will climb to the elevation of nearly 10,000 feet.
You will feel the dramatic drop of the temperature within minutes. Along the way, you will see the outskirts of Cedar Brake National Monument , Navajo Lake , and your first glimpse of Zion National Park from a distance. As we approach the Bryce Canyon , you will have a chance to stop off at the Red Canyon for photo opportunities. Once we arrive at Bryce, you will have an option to take a walk along the Rim or a hike to get a closer look at the Hoodoos - a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland.
This is a canyon that you cannot afford to miss while traveling and what better way to experience it than on a personal, private tour that includes a nutritious breakfast and picnic style box lunch.
