Lanzhou, situated between two mountains by the Yellow River, is the capital of Gansu Province. This day trip offers you the opportunity to explore the city including Baita Hill, Zhongshan Bridge, Waterwheel park, Gansu Provincial Museum.
What to Expect
At 9 am, your guide will meet you from your hotel lobby in Lanzhou to start the wonderful day trip in Lanzhou. Gansu Provincial Museum is the must-see site in the city. The museum houses 350,000 pieces or sets of cultural relics. Its exhibition hall consists of Silk Road Exhibition Hall, Colored Pottery Hall, and Fossil Exhibition Hall. The must-see relic is the bronze statue of a Horse Stepping on a Swallow which was unearthed in Leitai Tomb in Wuwei in 1969. As its beautiful pose, the statue became the token of China Tourism. You will stay here for about 2 hours.
Afterwards you will be transferred to the river bank of Yellow River to visit the Waterwheel Park that is situated by the Yellow River. The huge waterwheels were used to irrigate in the past. Here you can see the sheep-skin raft that used to be the boat to ship goods on the Yellow River. Lunch is included at local restaurant.
Then you will head to Zhongshan Bridge that was the first iron bridge built by German over the Yellow River in 1907. You will walk over the bridge to the Baita Hill. Baita, white pagoda hill in English, was derived from the White Pogoda on the top of the hill. You can climb up the hill to overview the entire city Lanzhou. Afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel where the trip concludes.
