Your tour departs S. Lake Tahoe at 08:30. The 50 mile drive to the wine country is fun and informative, narrated in part by your tour guide. Upon getting to the wine country, your first stop is at the Boa Vista Orchards and Winery. Boa Vista also offers home-baked goods, ciders, mountain-grown seasonal fruits and preserves. Go on to visit Boeger Winery, established in 1855. Wine tasting here is a must. Almost all of the grapes used for wine at Boeger are grown in the winery's vineyards, with Zinfandel, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc having been offered for years. The winery also produces Muscat Canelli. Like others in the area, Boeger is also growing young plantings of Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Refosco, taking advantage of the region's affinity for northern Italian grape varieties. Your next stop is Jodar Winery. Here, taste handcrafted wines produced in small lots to achieve the Jodar style - an exquisite balance of bold varietal fruit framed with graceful oak notes held in focus by firm acid balance. The perfect setting at Jodar winery gives you the opportunity to set up a delicious catered picnic lunch to make this day complete.   For a minimal fee (waived with bottle purchase), end the day with a final wine-tasting at a choice of 3 wineries.
