What people are saying about Lake Powell
worth doing...some good hiking, but lots of time in the van
This trip packs a lot into a 3 day itinerary. The national parks are spectacular and definitely worth seeing. However they are spaced pretty far apart so you end up spending at least 3-6 hours per day in the van. Our guide did a good job of keeping us entertained in the van and also planned rest stops every 2 hours to break up the travel. There are several opportunities to go hiking but most of the hiking is optional (except for the Grand canyon rim walk - an easy 1h walk). If you are looking for an intensive hiking experience you won't have enough time. Day 1 included about 3 hours to hike in Zion and 2 hours in Bryce, which is not enough to do the Angels Landing hike if that's your thing. Day 2 did not include any time for hiking and was more for sightseeing. On day 3 we had 3 hours to hike the grand canyon. About half the people chose camping, and the other half a hotel. Hotel accommodations were good.
Our guide Alex was amazing. He was knowledgeable and nice person. Although, English is not my first language, but that was fine. I spent an unforgettable time with new friends. I could meet people from all over the world. Also, the night sky in Arizona was the best ever in my life. If you can’t decide your mind, and you are procrastinating to book, you should join this tour for sure. Oh,I joined this tour in August, but I needed warm clothes at night!
Great guide and the best driver ever. But ... I was under the impression that a 15 passenger bus tour was being offered, not a 60 passenger one. It was rather stressful to be in such a situation for three days covering 1000 miles. That said, I did enjoy seeing so much of the Grand Canyon in a short timeframe.
Fantastic, relaxing scenery all the way of the trip. No pictures does justice to the view. Tour guide Kane driving us around was very funny and knowledgeable. Tour guide Jose at the Antrelope canyon itself, made the tour very enjoyable with his jokes. Hes very good at taking pictures too. Worth the value.
Roberto and Joel were great guide and driver. if you are going in October, bring a winter jacket for the trip to Monument valley. It is very windy and the temperature can drop dramatically, out of the sun
