This tour will take you back in time and show you Santo Domingo from the times of spanish colony. You'll admire architecture from XVI century and feel the ambience of the past centuries. Not to be overwhelmed by the monuments, you'll also explore the cenotes in the tropical scenery, approach the giant Columbus Lighthouse and ride the cable car over the city. You'll start early in the morning (about 6am) and will have a packaged breakfast on the way. Transfer to the capital will take about 3.5h. Once arrived to Santo Domingo, you'll see first the famous Malecon Boulevard by the Caribbean Sea. Then you'll follow to the east part of the city, where you'll have a glance of eye at the huge Columbus Monument. Nearby are located beautiful cenotes The Three Eyes. You'll explore the limestone caves and will have a ride on a small boat inside the cavern. Your next attraction will be the cable car over the city, connecting different neighbourhood's of the capital. You'll be surprised to see how varying can be local people's living conditions... About noon you'll be heading to the old city, to have about 1 hour walk. You'll follow the route of the first governor of Santo Domingo - Nicolás de Ovando. Buildings dating to his times were the first spanish creations in the New World. Santo Domingo was at that time the head quarter of all spanish colonies. You'll discover the most important monuments: Alcazar de Colón, Casas Reales, Ozama Fortress, Cathedral, Santo Domingo Monastery and others. After the visit, enjoy dominican lunch in form of tasty buffet with soft drink included. Then you'll have a free time to explore the old city by your own. It's perfect occasion to make some souvenir shopping or just stroll around. We'll leave the city around 4-5pm and come back to the north coast about 8/9pm.

When we talk about buggies, we are talking about an all-terrain vehicle that offers safety and ease of handling, while allowing the user greater contact with the terrain and nature that surrounds him while driving. Feel the breeze, the sun, the rain, see the landscape at your side in a comfortable and safe device designed to enjoy the forest track and off-road. When everyone is ready we will start our ride to some rural areas of Jarabacoa Town, while driving your buggy the bumpy roads and mountain air of the countryside from the central north of the country will show you the beauty and the nature through this adventure. Some of the locations you will visit during this trip are La Confluencia where Jimenoa and Yaque Del Norte river meet, Cieneguita, and Monte Arriba. After riding for about 30 kilometers we will head to Baiguate Waterfall for a 10 minutes hike and swimming in natural pools. During this part of your trip, you will be able to go swimming for about 1 hour and take a break to try out some fresh fruits harvested from Jarabacoa farmer’s land every day. Baiguate has an 82 feet high fall and is the perfect place to relax a bit before going back to town. Day 1 Our driver will drop us off at the Manabao swamp, where we'll begin the first stage of our hiking route. On this first trail, of about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles), we'll traverse the green and lush jungle. We'll take a small stop around halfway through the trail, in the middle of the jungle, to regain our strength before continuing onwards. The first day of hiking will end at La Compartición, a mountain encampment situated around 2450 metres (8000 feet) above sea level. Day 2 After eating a wholesome breakfast at camp, we'll start the ascent towards Pico Duarte. This trail is around 13 kilometres (8 miles). Of course, along the way, we'll be taking multiple stops to have something to eat and to take in the pine, ebony and mahogany forests! The effort will without a doubt be worth it, as we'll climb to the top of Pico Duarte, which is situated 3087 metres (10,127 feet) above sea level, making it the highest mountain in the Antilles. Once we've arrived, we'll enjoy some of the most extraordinary panoramic views. From the summit of Pico Duarte, we'll return to the encampment to have dinner and spend the night. Day 3 After having breakfast at the camp, we'll hike from there back to the Manabao swamp. Here we'll have a warming picnic-type lunch and then after, make the journey back to the meeting point in Jarabacoa. We're expected to arrive back in the late afternoon. Accommodation and Food This hiking tour includes 2 nights of accommodation at a mountain encampment situated in the area surrounding Pico Duarte. During this tour, we'll enjoy 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 2 dinners that will be eaten out in nature, with picnic-style snacks.

The adventure begins at 6:00 AM at the meeting point where we start driving to the Breakfast Stop (7:30AM) after breakfast we continue driving until we reach the start of the adventure. This is were the hiking begins , the estimate time is 3-4 hour, the mostly of time swimming and having fun in the natural pool and waterfalls, enjoying the most blue and fresh waters.(Don’t know how to swim?, it doesn’t matter, life jackets are included). The difficulty level of the route is medium-high Its recommended to be in good physical condition and healthy. A certain level of resistance is required, it has many ups and downs. At the end of the route ( we coming back to a local home to taste the flavors of local cuisine, a delicious typical made by the best hands of the countryside. Menu: The Dominican Flag (Rice, Reed Beans & stew chiken) can be lightly modified (vegan cases). Finally, we would be coming back home at 4:00PM, arriving Santo Domingo 7-8PM.
