Full description

Depart Kyiv and journey to Chernobyl, now famous as the site of the nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in 1986. Benefit from pre-arranged permits to enter the Chernobyl Exclusion Zones. See the impact of the disaster on the now almost abandoned city, and learn how the residents were evacuated in the aftermath of the tragedy. Pass the deserted village of Zalecie and look at the memorial to the first victims of the explosion. Discover the large concrete sarcophagus that was erected over reactor number 4. Go to the impressive Cold War defense antenna of Duga 1, also known as the "Russian Woodpecker." Walk the streets of the ghost town of Pripyat and see a desolate swimming pool and playground. Look at the ghost-like amusement park and its Ferris wheel that no child ever had the chance to ride. Pause to reflect at an abandoned school and hotel before leaving the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Pass a special security control to check the radiation levels before you journey back to Kyiv for an evening drop-off in the city center.

    Tiring, impressive tour

The tour is very exhausting, you have to be fit. Because the bus is small, with a group of 14 people, you constantly get in and out, which is really exhausting. The tour lasts approximately 10.5-11 hours. One of them is in the spear area for 6-7 hours. The trip there from Kiev is very bumpy because the condition of the roads is catastrophic. You should be clear about that. BUT IT'S WORTH IT. The impressions are phenomenal and unique. We haven't regretted a second and would love to do it again if we came to Kiev again. I highly recommend it. In a few years, such a tour will no longer be possible in this form because the buildings are decaying and nature is taking everything back. It is unique. And it's not dangerous, don't worry, the organizers are careful that nothing happens to us.

The tour guide was very competent and very friendly! The tour very interesting and recommended. There were 3 buses of 12 people from this company on the way but you always ran separately, that you do not run into each other. The only drawback is that we did not drive to the cemetery of the vehicles, what they used to do.

    Great experience

Everything went well and extremely interesting. Our guide was very nice and competent. At the amusement park and the kindergarten one could have taken a little more time for photos! Unfortunately we did not see the swimming pool. You should not expect too much from the food in the canteen, but as you know, hunger is the best cook. Would book this trip again. Small groups are here about 16 people, which is not quite a small group.
