Taste authentic Zulu beer, meet with traditional doctors, and experience an educational and entertaining Zulu dance show. Head into the Dlinza Forest Reserve after lunch. Admire the spectacular surroundings from a high, raised boardwalk that winds its way through the forest. Take a walk along the peaceful land trails as well. Get up close and personal with the duiker, or small antelopes, that have become accustomed to the human visitors.

Take a half-day tour to experience authentic Zulu culture and see reptiles up close. Start with a visit to the picturesque area of Molweni. There you will have the opportunity to consult with the local inyanga/sangoma and have a traditional Zulu experience. The consultation lasts about 45 minutes where traditional methods like throwing the bones to connect with your ancestors will be done. The tour also travels to the Valley of 1000 Hills, home to the PheZulu Cultural and Safari Park. You will be taken into traditional beehive shaped thatched huts, where the various artefacts, beliefs and rituals of the Zulu people are explained, giving you an insight into the fascinating Zulu culture. The Zulu dancing show (50 minutes) is impressive with the dancers in their traditional garb, showing off their skills with grace, agility and humor. PheZulu also has a Reptile park where you will be taken on a tour by a knowledgeable local guide. Learn interesting facts about crocodiles and snakes and have a hands-on experience with Cleo the Burmese python who weighs 42kg.

The Inyanga (a traditional healer) can communicate with your ancestors, by working with plant medicines and using the power of prayer for healing. While most practice all three, you will find others that work solely with one or any combination of these methods. Their training varies depending on family lineage and land location, however what they all have in common is a calling to serve their families and their communities. The Inyanga / Sangoma stays in the picturesque area of Molweni. There you will have the opportunity to consult with the local Inyanga /Sangoma and have a traditional zulu experience. 4. Sani Pass and Mokhotlong in Two Days

Day One:  Depart from Underberg, or be collected along the route, in a 4x4 vehicle and travel via the Sani Pass, with a stop for early tea at Sani Top Chalet. Travel up Black Mountain Pass for a short walk to a vantage point to view Thabana Ntlenyana, the highest peak in Southern Africa at 3482 meters. Continue on to Mokhotlong via the stunningly beautiful Sehonghong Valley and stop at 10 Riverside for an ethnic Basotho experience, including a visit to the Ngaka, a traditional healer, and the artifact house. Afterward, go to Mokhotlong for dinner and your overnight stay. Day Two:  After breakfast, drive through Mokhotlong, which was once billed as the most remote village in the British Empire. Stop for a short walk down the main road to view the rare Spiral Aloe, the National plant of Lesotho. Travel to St James Mission to see the fascinating ceiling of their church. Drive back up the Sehonghong Valley, looking for the rare Bearded Vulture on the route. Reach Sani Top and go for lunch at the Sani Top Chalet before descending the Sani Pass back to Underberg.

What a wonderful and informative tour. Sotiris Spetsiotis from 1st Zulu Safaris was very informative and added value to the trip. The tour guide at the Zulu village was knowledgeable, engaging and easy to understand. The dancing was incredible. The lunch was tasty. Overall I had a very enjoyable time.
