Full description
After pick up, have a 3 hours long drive with a break on the midway through breath taking views of Meander Valley, mountains, farming lands, fruit tree gardens, small towns and villages. You will visit Hierapolis. The Necropolis (cemetery) of Hierapolis is one of the biggest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia with 1,200 graves, Roman Bath, Domitian Gate, the Main Street, Byzantian Gate. Then you take a short walk over to the natural warm water terraces which were formed by running warm water that contains high levels of calcium. A swim in the effervescent waters of the Sacred Pool should be at the top of the list on any travel itinerary. In addition to a high level of natural radioactivity, the water contains calcium bicarbonate, calcium sulfate, magnesium and carbon dioxide and after a swim, you should simply dry off and let the minerals do their magic. You will be given enough free time to be on your own pace as well to get better feeling of site of Pamukkale. In late afternoon 3 hours drive back to Kusadasi and return to your hotel or point of your departure.

During the tour our guide Aron had given us a lot info about Pamukkale and the region. We also had plenty of free time to explore. Pamukkale is located inside the Hierapolis and the tour will give you access to the archaeological sites and museum. Entrance to the Cleopatra pool is not included - it is a hot spring pool and water is maintained at 35C, so don't be afraid to take a dip if you are visiting during winter! The lunch was delicious. We were taken to a local pide restaurant and had freshly-made pide straight out from the oven! The tour was flexible with pick up and drop off locations. We contacted Aron before the trip and he was happy to pick us up from a holiday apartment in Kusadasi. The road trip to Pamukkale is about 3 hours each way. Other travellers in the tour had decided to make the tour a one way trip and left for the Denizli airport (1hr drive from Pamukkale), which Aron happily accommodated.

The tour to Pamukkale was very nice. The view there is unique. The tour guide and the driver were very nice. The tour guide is very talkative. We made a stop at a hotel where we were allowed to swim and ate. If you want to swim in the Cleopatra pool you have to pay the entrance yourself. It was about 100 lira, otherwise everything else was included in the price. Be sure to take a hat and a towel with you.
