Spend a day touring through the coastal town of Kusadasi, visiting the central sights, such as Pigeon Island, Caravanserai Fortress, and the city center. You will learn about the history of this resort town and have the opportunity to explore its bazaar.
What to Expect
Spend your day touring the Turkish city of Kusadasi, a resort town located on the Aegean coast, on a 5-hour tour. You will be taken to Pigeon Island, visit the Caravanserai, and walk the streets of the city center to do some shopping and get a feel for local life.
After meeting with your guide in the hotel or at the Kusadasi port, you will begin your tour, first arriving at the Atatürk statue, situated on a hill that overlooks the town.
Then continue on to Pigeon Island, a peninsula at the end of the bay, the proper name of which is Güvercin Adası. You will see a Byzantine castle here that was used to defend the area against pirates. From this place, the view back to the town across the water is lovely.
Next you will arrive at the Caravanserai, a fortress built in the Ottoman times that has been converted to a venue where shows take place at night. Here you may opt to stop and enjoy a Turkish lunch.
After eating, you will make your way to the city center. Here you will have the opportunity to wander around and visit the shops, where you can purchase something for you, your family, or friends to remember Kusadasi. There are a variety of handicraft goods, Turkish sweets, and other items available for you to buy.
