What People Are Saying About Krakow
This was a really enjoyable trip and it was extremely interesting with a thoughtful range of activities. Our guide Casia was delightful, informative and engaging. Her commentary was excellent and her knowledge of the area and its history was substantial. I appreciated her subtle sense of humour throughout the trip. Despite heavy traffic on the road to zakopane, the ride was comfortable and the scenery beautiful. The range of houses passed on the journey became even more interesting as the first major stop allowed us to look inside an old wooden house, with its original decor from times gone by, and we observed an artist doing some of his wood carving in one of the rooms. Zakopane itself was pretty and I was delighted that the substantial number of visitors to this mountain resort are Polish. The funicular and chairlift were splendid and although I don't like heights I felt perfectly safe. We were blessed with a beautiful September day and our fantastic guide kept the sun shining.
Enjoyed lovely scenery after a 3 hour trip, but the view of the Tatras mountains made the trip worth it.
We had a great day out to Zakopane and the Tatra mountains last week. It was everything we had hoped for (except for the rain we encountered). There were only 4 of us on the trip but our guide, Kasza, gave us a great commentary in her perfect English, explaining everything we were seeing and giving us important contextual information concerning the history and geography of Poland, which was fascinating.
We spent the day with our bright and knowledgeable guide, Katherine, and learned so much about Poland, its people, natural places, geology and geography, plants, animals, and the Polish Punter gentlemen were great too. They carefully poled us through the beautiful Dunajec river gorge, lively stories were relayed to us by Katherine. I would definitely recommend it. The area is pristine and unspoiled: Granite and limestone cliffs : Tall hardwood and pine forests. John Paul 2 used to kayak here as a young man. Ask about the Polish Highlanders. I am so impressed that the Cracow City Tours was able to order us up such a nice day for our trip! Even though we booked the trip for late October, which should have been COLD, it was a mild and perfect weather day in southern Poland for our raft trip. Dziekuje (bardzo)!
We had a funny and enthusiastic tour guy who took us through parts of the Eagle trail, showed us both ruined and reconstructed castles and a 13th century cave network. Some of the views were absolutely breath-taking! However the tour claimed to be 7 hours and clearly stated what would be covered. We started seeing things that were not 'part' of the tour i.e. minature parks, markets, man-made deserts, etc. As we had a flight that evening we got a bit worried when 9-hours into the tour we were still seeing things. We also became quite famished as a stop for lunch wasn't until 3:20pm. Overall we did enjoy ourselves but wish it was a bit better scheduled given most people will have plans around their tours.
