Full description
Depart Krakow for a confronting day of reflection with a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps. Undoubtedly, it is a solemn place that leaves a lasting impression all visitors, and an important memorial to the victims of the extermination.  Funded by the Nazi party in 1940, Auschwitz-Birkenau became both a symbol of human suffering and a witness to physical and emotional exhaustion. As the largest concentration camp operated by the Nazis, it became the final resting place for millions of people, mostly Jews, put to their death in the hideous gas chambers. Visit the museum and memorial in the suburbs of Oświęcim, about 60 kilometers west of Krakow. Upon arrival, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes later, meet a professional guide who will show you around the site and speak of its dark history. Pass through the gate with the inscription "Arbeit macht frei" to enter Auschwitz I, where your guide will show you around the preserved area and explain the history of this place. Then, visit the second camp at Birkenau, where mass killings took place as part of the Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Question." Spend about 1 hour at the Birkenau camp, before meeting your driver for the return journey to Kraków.

Although my departure time was changed, the tour was excellent. Transport at the scheduled time without confusion and an excellent guide. However, there could be a longer lunch break between Auschwitz and Birkenau for lunch and some points the guide passed too quickly, it would be nice to have more time to absorb and look at things.

Although we purchased the 7am tour, we got a message saying it will start at 9am instead. This was not a problem to us as we realised you've got more than enough time to get around the whole place. The driver and guide who brought us to the place was very friendly and informative, however it was the educator guide in Aushwitz that was incredible. She took her time, really told the story well, very good English. Definitely recommend booking this trip, it highlights everything you need and we weren't rush at all and was able to soak everything up

From the first moments, on the threshold of the entrance to the camp, a heavy atmosphere invaded us. The facts that took place show us what humans can commit in the atrocity. It was a very important and memorable visit. Everything was perfect in terms of service! The driver Filip is very helpful and punctual.
