Take a tour of the memorial of death at Auschwitz-Birkenau with a local guide on this tour from Krakow. You’ll visit Auschwitz I, the administrative center of the Auschwitz death camp and Auschwitz II, built as the camp’s extermination facility.
What to Expect
You will be picked up from your hotel by an English-speaking tour guide. Then take the short 1.5 hour ride to Auschwitz Birkenau Museum. You may even get the chance to watch a documentary film about the infamous Concentration Camp during the journey.

Auschwitz is one of the best-known and most infamous concentration camps in history. It is a place of genocide where approximately 1.5 million people were exterminated during WWII.

This 7.5-hour tour includes a visit to Auschwitz I, the administrative center of the Auschwitz death camp, and Auschwitz II, designed to be an extermination facility. The place has remained a living monument of death, and every year, millions of visitors from around the world walk through the gates, following the same route as prisoners over half a century ago.

Your visit includes an introduction to the origins of the camp, its history, and the everyday life of its prisoners. You will accompanied by an expert local guide from the museum.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau complex was established in 1940 and throughout its 5 years of operation over 1.5 million Jews, Poles, Italians, and Frenchman perished here.

The museum was opened in 1947, combining the area of KL Auschwitz (Auschwitz I) in Oświęcim and the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) in Brzezinka. It comprises approximately 150 buildings and 300 ruins.

The original roads, fences, watchtowers, and railway ramps have been preserved. Its buildings house a collection of original exhibits and documents. In 1979, the concentration camp was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
