Rhodes: Profitis Ilias Sunset Hike

1. Rhodes: Profitis Ilias Sunset Hike

Onboard a private coach, you will set off for the inland part of Rhodes, towards the central-western area. After a picturesque (approx, one hour from Rhodes town) drive, we reach Salakos, a beautiful agricultural village, located on the foothills of the mountain Profitis Ilias. After arriving, you will be invited to discover the third-biggest mountain of the island. The trails ascent as its slopes gradually, with the well-maintained trails also suitable for beginner hikers due to its quality. Most of the hike is under the shade of ilex trees, pine trees, and some olive trees. During the uphill, the views are magnificent towards the Aegean Sea, the coastline of Turkey and some nearby islands. After having arrived at the meadow, you can admire the famous “Elafos and Elafina” (male and female deer in Greek), and former Italian buildings built by Italian Colonists on 1929 and 1932 following an Alpine Style of architecture. You will also visit the “Villa de Vecci” house of the former Italian Governor of Rhodes, and the Byzantine Church of Profitis Elias. Following a short break and a snack, you will begin your descent back to Salakos. At the appropriate point, time will be given to admire the sun going down in the Aegean Sea behind the miniature island of Halki. After arriving back in Salakos, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Excellent activity Hats off to Raphaël who served as our guide all day with professionalism and a lot of humor The cars are very comfortable Note the lunch almost on the waterfront, exquisite both in terms of quality and quantity, also to be recommended The little one honey producer was charming and his honey delicious I recommend this activity without hesitation

The return trip also went very well. We even had the same driver as on the outward journey. He was super on time and even before us at the front desk. Next time we would book a transfer again through Get your Guide.

Very reliable, nice contact, spontaneous rebooking no problem, even a transfer in the middle of the night due to a flight delay was no problem. Gladly again.

The private taxi was great. The very nice driver gave us water and gave us lots of tips on the way to the hotel. Again and again!

Wonderful experience with very warm and professional guides. Unique!
