Koh Samui Elephant Home was established to help care for and conserve elephants as well as returning them to their natural habitat to increase the Asian elephant population in Thailand. The centre offers the ability to take part in a morning or afternoon visit, to see just what the program is about. Start your day with a pickup from your hotel or villa around the island arriving at Koh Samui Elephant Home. Meet with your guide who will offer a warm welcome and receive a welcome drink. Listen as your guide explains to you the plight of the center, and how you can help. After your introduction, take part in the harvesting of organic food for the elephants and even get to feed them up close. The day will start bright and early with a yoga and meditation class at the beach. Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate, the instructor will make sure to accommodate your skill level as you go through the class. After your morning session, you’ll have free time to make use of the resort’s facilities. Feeling refreshed and revitalized, head to your first destination of the day: Hin Ta Hin Yai. Listen to the local folklore of how the rocks came to be and snap photos of the strange formations before going to a local restaurant for lunch.
