From Phi Phi: Sunset and Bioluminescent Plankton Boat Tour
- Duration: 5 hours
It was just 4 of us on a private longtail, we enjoyed the tour. lots of snorkeling and quick stops. Monkey beach, Maya bay, etc. However if someone is not into snorkeling and swimming so much it can be a long day. The sunset was nice out on the water and the Bioluminescent Plankton thing was really a dud, nothing like the description and pictures. I did jump in and stir them up to see them a bit but overall a waste of time IMO. The cost for the day was good and a decent sightseeing tour! if you choose this tour keep in mind that it is not a high end excursion but a fun day on a tiny boat!
I’ve taken a ferry to Kho Phi Phi I’m the past; and this is absolutely better in every way imaginable. If you wanna spend the money (you should); it is so worth it to take the speedboat. It gets you there in about 45 minutes; as opposed to 2+ hours, plus you can see beautiful views the whole way instead of sitting inside the belly of a massive ship. Smoother ride, quicker ride; much better! Also you don’t have to stand in the blazing hot sun for over an hour waiting to board a ferry. Do this if you’re going to Phi Phi or any other island.
Definitely a good idea going early and this looks to be the earliest boat. Beating the crowds is impossible though as the day progresses, but they never spoil it (maybe the lagoon). The morning is the best part, before lunch. Nice boat, nice people, great snorkeling. We saw lots of beautiful fish, a turtle, sharks (the Otile black tipped reef sharks). Not enough food! Really need something on the boat - it’s a long time between the 6am doughnuts and lunch.
Amazing tour. Our tour guide Pooka (not sure if I spelt it right) Was incredibly bubbly, friendly and very informative. You can really tell she loves her job. She was always smiling. This tour is amazing if you want to visit the bays, snorkel, swim in lagoons, visit the monkeys and get a little beach time. Great value for money.
This activity was so wonderful that I did it twice! The guides are fantastic and take you snorkelling which means that you see a lot more than you would by hiring a long tail boat. Speedboat is great, food and drinks provided. A must-do on Phi Phi island.
