    1. Moshi: Kilimanjaro Bike Park Safari

Mountain biking in West Kilimanjaro is a fun and thrilling way to experience one of the Tanzania’s great game reserves. If you’re reasonably fit, are confident on a bike, and have a sense of adventure, then cycling through this great wilderness area is an awesome experience. Experience the thrill of pedaling along red-dirt roads whilst feeling the sun on your back, surrounded by endless spectacular horizons. All of a sudden you might be lucky enough to spot a herd of zebra, impala, or wildebeest, grazing in the distance. No matter how many more wild animals you see during your holiday, you’ll never forget your first sighting of wild animals in their natural habitat.

  • Kilimanjaro: Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour with Lunch

    2. Kilimanjaro: Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour with Lunch

After pickup in Moshi Town or Arusha, drive to Materuni Village with your English-speaking guide. Located just 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from Moshi Town, Materuni is still an authentic tribal village home to the Chagga tribe and the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arrival, register at the village office then begin your trip. First, visit the waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, learn about the culture of the Chagga, village life, and the surrounding fauna and flora with your guide. Admire the breathtaking views and, with luck, catch sight of the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, marvel at cascades that are more than 80-meters (262-feet) high. Take advantage of the inviting pool at the bottom of the waterfall and take a refreshing dip. Don't forget your swimwear! After enjoying the scenery, slowly return to Materuni...

The Guide was super friendly and had an answer to every question. From my side, it's an absolutely must do, to go to the Waterfalls and see the coffee process. The People from the Village are very friendly and the food, is super great. Many thanks to the guide and Thomas, who was driving us.

What people are saying about Kilimanjaro

I had one day prior to joining my Kilimanjaro group to explore the local area so decided on the waterfalls and coffee tour. I got promptly collected by a driver from my hotel who took me to Materuni village; he spoke great English and gave me information en route. On arrival at materuni, I met a local guide who took me to the waterfall, which was about an hour hike. Beautiful scenery and the guide was amazing! After the hike, I got to make coffee with the locals and enjoy a traditional lunch at one of the village houses - highly recommend!!

We were picked up in Arusha and driven to Materuni Village where our tour started. The guide spoke good English and told a lot of interesting during the tours. It was a lovely trip and well worth the money. Making coffee with a local family on their farm was a delight, and the coffee tasted heavenly. We had the opportunity to buy a bag of coffee beans and local paintings with us. Highly recommended.
