Full description
Depart Khao Lak for a friendly elephant camp and spend some time with the gentle giants, bathing and feeding them. Continue the 5-hour tour with a visit to Sai Rung Waterfall, the rainbow falls, and enjoy some refreshments. The waterfall cascades 20 meters from a ledge in the tropical rainforest into a lagoon. Surrounded by lush vegetation, the area around the falls also hosts an abundance of local wildlife. Hop on a bamboo raft poled by a local boatman and float along the river for a calm and relaxing ride through the rainforest. Visit the Sea Turtle Conservation Center to learn about projects aimed at increasing the number of sea turtles in the region.

The tour guide was awesome and the whole day was a fantastic must-do experience. This is serious bathing of the elephants - much mud scrubbing and rinsing involved! Be sure to wear your bathers as you will be sitting in the water on the rafts. Lunch was included at an amazing local restaurant where the tables are set up IN the river. Food was excellent and the water so cooling.

The waterfalls were super crowded and very boring, the raft trip was a bit boring and very unspectacular. The turtle farm was nice and interesting but all in all I would only go swimming with the elephants next time, that would be absolutely enough. Still, it was a nice day and lunch on the beach was delicious! :-)

Everything was okay, the guide Rin was nice and entertaining. Unfortunately, the time is too short and you are dragged from there to there. Less would be more here. Would have preferred to have stayed with the elephant for 6 hours. It is particularly noteworthy here that the elephants are not driven with hoes or sticks. The keeper and the elephants have known each other for generations and you can tell. Loving handling of the animals, because they count like family members, you notice that and they are also holy. That was also very important to Rin, but also to us. Small and big children come back here with a smile, not like at other camps. Absolutely a must ... Have a new friend "Namphie"
