Experience the most beautiful part of Ireland over 2 days. Combine a full-day tour of the Dingle Peninsula with a 2-hour guided walk in Killarney National Park. Explore stunning Irish landscapes, local lore and ancient history with an expert guide.
What to Expect
Dingle Peninsula is a place of intense allure, with green landscapes, rocky hills, long sandy beaches and staggering cliff edges. From Slea Head you can see the Blasket Islands, the furthest outposts of Europe. These remote islands are steeped in history, mythology and traditional Irish culture. The tip of the peninsula is a stronghold of the Irish language where many traditions and customs have been preserved.
The town of Dingle was the chief port of Kerry in the old Spanish trading days and, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth, the town was important enough to be fortified. The peninsula is the location of numerous prehistoric and early medieval remains, such as the Gallarus Oratory.
The day after your tour of Dingle, enjoy a relaxing walk with a local guide through beautiful Killarney National Park. Visit ancient places like the old copper mines which date back 4000 years and 15th-century Ross Castle. Enjoy stunning lake, river, mountain and woodland scenery. In season, you will see rich local flora including wild mint, garlic and myrtle, as well as unusual trees. It should be possible to sight native red deer as well the rare Kerry cow.
