Overall rating
We were the only customers on that day (my wife, my son and me), so it was a really private tour. Our guide Adrian has a fantastic knowledge of the history of Bulgaria and was able to explain lots of things. This tour allows to discover the most important periods of the history of Bulgaria : neolithic era, Thracians, Roman era, middle-age, Ottoman invasion, and independance of Bulgaria. Even if you are only slightly interested in history, it is the opportunity to see lots of marvellous buildings and objects.
I had a fantastic time, the places visited are really worth seeing. Despite of the fact I had read some literature related to the various places, our guide Martin provided very valuable information about the local history and culture so I learned a lot. It was an insightful and entertaining experience.
Adrian was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and did a wonderful job making the ancient past come to life. This was probably the best part of our trip to Bulgaria :) We would recommend this tour wholeheartedly to anyone who is interested in history, archaeology, or just cool stuff.
I really enjoyed Buzludzha. If you like Sovjet architecture you should really see this. My guide Radi was very open and fun and added in stories about his personal life to give perspective about Bulgaria
