What to Expect
On this 5-day tour you will visit Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu, as well as Dhulikhel, the village of Balthali, and Bhaktapur. Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a World Heritage Site with many amazing temples and historical monuments, as well as Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
Hike through the beautiful region to the village of Balthali and experience the traditional rural lifestyles of the region. On this tour you will have many opportunities to admire the spectacular panoramic views of the mountain ranges of Manaslu, Langtang, and Everest.
Arriving in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be met by a representative and transferred in a private vehicle to the Hotel Marshyangdi. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu
After breakfast, join a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square. The World Heritage Site is an ancient residence of the King situated in the heart of the city, also known as Hanuman Dhoka. This entire Royal Palace complex is full of historical monuments including the Taleju Temple, the Lord Krishna Temple, and the Jaggannath Temple. Visit the huge stone statue of Kala Bhairav, Pasupatinath Temple, the Boudhananth Stupa, and the Swayambhu Nath Stupa, with incredible views of the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan ranges.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Dhulikhel – Namobuddha – Balthali
After breakfast at 7:00, drive to Dhulikhel. Explore Dhulikhel and enjoy panoramic mountain views of Himalchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Mount Everest. Set off on a hike to Namobuddha and Balthali village (5 – 6 hours). Relax in a small, cozy retreat in the village of Balthali, with a bird’s eye view of the green rice terrace fields dotted with ochre-painted houses and the faint hue of Himalayan peaks to the north. Stay overnight in Balthali.
Day 4: Balthali – Bhaktapur – Kathmandu
After breakfast at 8:00, hike down to Panuti and then drive to Bhaktapur, the city of wood-carving. Visit Durbar Square through the Royal Gate and explore the many temples and other architectural show pieces, including the Lion Gate, the art gallery, the statue of Bhupatendra Malla, the Palace of 55 Windows, the Bell of the Barking Dogs, Batsala Temple, Nyatapola Temple, and the replica of Pashupatinath. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening at a traditional restaurant.
Day 5: Kathmandu
Depart from Kathmandu. You will receive free transportation to Trivuwan International Airport.
