Day 3: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft)

As per flight time, our guide will meet you at your hotel and takes you to the domestic airport to fly in to Lukla. It is a scenic flight of about 35 minutes, once you get in to the Lukla, breakfast at the lodge will be taken and your luggage will be prepared by our porters. Your adventure now starts. The walking begins through the stone paved trails towards Bhaisekharka. The start of the journey has few up downs on the way to Phakding. You will pass through plenty of prayer Rocks (Mani in local language). After getting in to the lodge at Phakding, you can freshen up and take it easy but short walk to the village or hike up to the Gompa will help you to get acclimatized. Stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazzar. (3440m/11,283ft)

After hot breakfast at your lodge, the trail leads towards the suspension bridge and an easy uphill to Monju from where Sagarmath National Park begins. After short National Park formalities, drop down to the river, cross another suspension bridge and continue walking to the high Hilary Bridge at the bottom of the hill. After the bridge the trail leads uphill to the Namche Bazzar. The trail begins on a fairly steep grade and then evens out further ahead. You will feel the first effects of altitude and it is recommended to not walk too quickly.  On the way you will have great views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Kusum Khangru and more. Stay overnight at the Lodge.

Day 5: Explore day

This is a mandatory acclimatization day that allows your body to adjust to the effects of altitude. Instead of staying in the lodge, we recommend you to walk which allows the body to adjust to the rarified air more quickly. Today you’ll explore the Museum, visit Khumjung and Khongde village where you can enjoy the views of Mt. Everest and surroundings peaks. You can also visit Thame which is an old Sherpa village as an option. For the remainder of the day you can explore Namche Bazzar where you can use Internet, visit National Park head office, Museum and monastery or enjoy a coffee and visit the bakery as per your interest and time.  Stay overnight at Namche.

Day 6: Trek to Thame (3,800m/12,467ft)

After breakfast at Namche, the trail leads to the old village called Thamo which is an easy walk through the valley. Thamo is a small Sherpa village. After exploring the village, the trail leads to Thame. After lunch, rest a little and explore the Sherpa village and its culture. There is small Hydro power plant where you can visit. Stay overnight at the Lodge.

Day 7: Trek to Lungde (4,380m/14,370ft)

It provides interesting walking where you can enjoy the views of the snow peaked mountains and the valley. Today you won’t see Sherpa villages because Thame is the last village in the valley. Once you get in to the village, we recommend hiking above the lodge to get acclimatized. Stay overnight at the Lodge.

Day 8: Trek to Gokya via Renjo la (4,790m/15,715ft)

After breakfast the trail leads uphill for an hour and half and then easy walking for a while. At the end, there is hard climb to get to the top of the Renjo La from where you will have an awesome view of Mt. Everest with Mt.Nuptse with surrounding peaks. You will also see Gokyo lake which has breathtaking views. From the top of the Renjo La the trail drops down to the Third Lake (Gokya lake) and then it’s a short walkto the lodge. After time to rest at the lodge, it’s a short climb to the ridge from where you will explore the Ngozumpa glacier which is amazing looking with its small glacier lakes. Stay overnight at Gokyo lodge.

Day 9: Trek to Thangnag (4,700m/15,419ft)

This is an easy day but we suggest you to start early because you will have to walk through the Ngozumpa glacier which is the longest glacier in Nepal. While crossing this glacier you will hear many sounds of rocks falling into the small glacier lake. There are many rocks on the way which have ice underneath. During the sunny day ice melts pretty fast so we should cross this glacier before the sun gets strong. Once you get in to the Thaknak, we suggest climbing up to the small hill to help your body acclimatize. Stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Dughla via Chola pass (4,620m/15,157ft)

Know Before You Go
Due to unpredictable weather conditions in the Himalayas there may be unforeseen schedule changes with domestic flights to Lukla and from Lukla. The flights may be delayed for several hours or pushed back by a day or more, depending on the circumstances. Although this is rare, it can happen even during the best trekking seasons. As you know, high altitude weather conditions can be difficult to predict. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you plan for this by allowing for an extra day or two in Nepal after your trek, if possible. This will help ensure that you have some flexibility with regard to your trek. On the other hand, if everything goes according to plan, you will have time to enjoy other activities such as rafting, wildlife viewing, shopping, or just relaxing after your adventure.
*Another option (in case of flight delay/cancellation) is to take a helicopter to/from Lukla. If you choose to go this route, we can arrange everything upon request.
