Had an amazing trip with thanks to my tour guide Marta! He really went above and beyond, taking photos/ videos for me that came out amazing quality! He was also extremely helpful during the hike, especially when things got hard (steep and slippery at times!), by holding my bag and giving me a helping hand when walking down the mountain. The sunrise at the top made it all worth it with breath taking views! Would definitely recommend… starting early is a plus too as you see the stars and moon and have the rest of the day to recover and explore, worked out perfectly for me. Don’t forget a jumper for the top as it gets cold.
The hike to the summit was incredible and my guide Dhikaa both very friendly and hiking fit. This trip was to the peak/summit that ran through the Puncakbukit Terunyan overpass at 1834 meters. The guide was wanting to stop there and return and as beautiful and as easy as the hike was to that point, it was not what I had signed up for. I had to talk to the organiser and guide and insist we fulfil the hike as planned. From this point the hike took a far more advanced and difficult path along the ridge to the summit. Both the guide and myself were concerned with the our safety at times as the guide had not ascended from the pass before, which was concerning. When we finally did get to the summit we found the descent so easy and safe. I would recommend to any non-advanced hikers to only ascend to the summit via the main route and not via the overpass, unless you an advanced hiker/climber. You will be on crawling on all fours. Overall, Wil and Dhikaa, we’re a pleasure to have as guides.
