Private Trip to Lake Bled and Radovljica with Lunch

2. Private Trip to Lake Bled and Radovljica with Lunch

Your excursion begins with a complimentary pick-up from your hotel or alternative meeting point  when pick-up isn't possible at the hotel. During the drive in a comfortable car/minivan your guide will share information and answer to your questions regarding Slovenia. Meanwhile, you will drive about an hour through rural Slovenia towards the Julian Alps. When you arrive in Bled, you will experience a drive around the lake, and a short stroll around Lake Bled where your guide will share his/her knowledge about this beautiful place.  After the sightseeing tour of the town, you will have a chance to visit the majestic castle or enjoy a ride in a traditional wooden boat, "pletna" to the island and back, or you can simply enjoy your own time here. After a short drive to Radovljica and a sightseeing tour of the city, you will see the famous Slovenian gingerbread workshop Lectar.  'Lectarstvo' is an old and renowned traditional handicraft of Slovenia. The decorated pastry is made from honey dough and shaped either with a wooden or a tin mold, or by hand. The craft is one of the oldest practiced in cities and squares, while in the countryside lect workshops appeared in the 19th century, during its heyday. Today, honey-bread products are precious souvenirs from Slovenia. Of course, a visit to the Slovenian countryside wouldn't be complete without tasting what Slovenian cuisine has to offer. You will indulge in a typical Alpine region lunch. Later, you  will return to Ljubljana full of wonderful memories, where the tour ends at the meeting point.

Very nice visit!

Our guide picked us up at the meeting point. At Predjama Castle, we were well informed about the construction of this castle. We had some free time for lunch and shopping if we wanted. The visit to Postojna caves was great. We walked inside the caves and the guide explained the origin of this cave to us. Very interesting day from all points of view. In addition, the guide spoke excellent English and also managed to speak French.

We loved it

The trip was amazing. The guide, Barbara, picked us up at the hotel and drove in her car, which was spotless (plus she drives very well). He accompanied us at all times and provided everything we need. His company was very nice, explaining a lot of things to us. It adapted to our preferences. The visit itself is very worthwhile. I recommend it 100%

Slovenia's Must-Sees

I really enjoyed seeing the Caves and Castle - both attractions are unique and awe-inspiring. The highlight was definitely riding on the electric train within Postonja and viewing the stalagmites and stalactites! To improve the tour I'd prefer more information from the guide about Slovenia/Ljubljana/Postojna in general during the bus ride there.

They must be the oldest and longest caves in the world on a mountain

The contribution of GetYourGuide, was important to have a driver to guide us to the place and avoid queues, pay tickets and / or move on our own. Then, our guide left a lot to be desired.

Right trip in terms of time and pace of travel. Caves was a marvel. Not to be missed in case you are visiting Ljubljana.
