On this unique 4-hour tour you’ll see the thousand-year-old Bandovas hermitages inside caves high up on the rocks and hear the amazing story of one of the most ancient churches in Greece, the Byzantine Church of the Virgin Mary in Kalambaka.   • The monasteries have a strict dress code. Men will be denied entry if wearing sleeveless clothing or shorts. Women can borrow or buy skirts and shawls at the entrance to the monasteries to cover themselves if needed
  • This is a semi-independent tour. The guide/driver will not enter the monasteries but will provide information outside the sites

We recently took a sunset tour of Meteora with Apostolis, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment the trip began, it was clear that Apostolis is incredibly passionate about the history and culture of Meteora. His enthusiasm was infectious, making every moment of the tour not only informative but also deeply engaging. Apostolis’ shared fascinating details that made us appreciate the rich heritage of the area even more. The trip itself was very well organized — everything ran smoothly, and we felt that the pace was perfect for taking in the breathtaking scenery and learning about the history without feeling rushed. The highlight, of course, was watching the sun set over the Meteora rock formations, an absolutely magical experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Apostolis’ knowledge and passion made this tour one of the best parts of our stay! 10/10
