Normandy D-Day Beaches: Day Trip from Paris
- Duration: 14 hours
Overall, it was a good tour and I got to see everything that was on my must see list. So. I was happy with that and glad I went. However, I think the stop at the end at the gas station is totally unnecessary and a waste of 30 mins. I also think the guide should be able to speak a little better English as it was really hard to understand her! The point of a guided tour is to learn and unfortunately, I wasnt able to learn much. Also, just note the tour is LONG! Like 14+ hours long so you'll be tired at the end!
Great tour with a wonderful and knowledgable guide. The day is very long but well worth it if you don't have your own transportation to get to the Normandy area. The bus was comfortable, and I'm assuming for safety reasons, they switched drivers half way through the trip, loved this! Thank you for a wonderful day and the education to boot!!
While the tour shows some amazing sites, the day is very rushed with little time at significant sites, and long stretches of driving in between. While the tour guides are great on the bus, there is little insight given once at the sites; and the “dinner” stop on the way home is a 30 minute break at a gas station.
A great trip well worth the money. Our tour guide was excellent, she had so much knowledge of the Normandy days landing and gave us lots of information during the day at each site we visited and during the coach journey. It was a long day, started at 7 a.m. and finished at 9 p.m. but glad I booked the tour.
Bridget’s communication skills are excellent and we enjoyed her many presentations. However, we noticed that most of the other tour guides accompanied their groups on the short walking tours and elaborated on the historical details. The details are always important. On balance, it was a very good tour.
