Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on your time chosen. Drive from your hotel through the city center to arrive at Jim Thompson’s House. Jim Thompson was the legendary American architect-entrepreneur who settled in Thailand after WWII and almost single-handedly revived the Thai silk industry. Thompson's achievements during his 25-year stay in the Kingdom of Thailand have won him much fame as the "Legendary American of Thailand". We enjoyed seeing the beautiful Jim Thompson House but the highlight of the excursion was visiting the Baan Krua silk weavers. They are hidden away down a tiny alley we never would have found on our own. Our guide Kiwi was fun, energetic and knowledgeable. Since it was just the three of us, we were able to have some nice conversation. It felt like having a friend in Thailand to show us around.
