The scenery of this trip is spectacular and everything went well. We only took a little more than an hour to climb to the defined goal as afterwards you would need a special permit and hiking equipment, making the trip shorter than planned (we were back in the city around 4pm). While none of our group members had problems with the altitude, it’s not uncommon and I’d suggest staying in CDMX a few days before going so you can get used to it. Bring enough water, snacks and sunscreen for the hike. On the way back, we stopped for lunch at a Quesadilla place on the road which was cheap and tasty :)

The experience itself was really good! Beautiful scenery! We got to climb one more base as was planned. Wasn’t easy to reach even harder to get down but totally worth the view. Guide seemed to be new to this. He seemed not to care much about the less fit group members. We as a leading group completely left others behind. When descending group was totally separated. And everyone was pretty much on its own

Not a trip to the TOP of the Volcano, as the details suggest (and what I figured for the price and time allotted). But still an excellent way to hike and see the volcanoes. It would require more gear and more experience to hike to the summit. This hike is still challenging, and a good way to experience some altitude, with breath taking views! The guide was very good!

A Great Experience!, it definitely will challenge you if you are not used to this kind of altitude, the further we get is gate #2 at 4,500meters under sea level. The landscape from gate number 1 to number 2 has a lot of loose rock. The stop for lunch is at a local place with nice food. We arrived 4pm to CDMX

The guide and the hike were very nice. The views of Popocatepetl were fantastic. The only problem was that the travel time was not accurate. Due to the condition of the dirt roads, our tour which was supposed to end at 4:00 pm did not end until 7:00 pm.
