While the Cistern itself was excellent, entry was problematic. I had printed off the pdf tickets in advance, but these - for whatever reason - could not be scanned, and I had to fiddle about with my mobile finding and downloading the tickets online in an updated email (I had tried to avoid having to do this as (1) I wanted to avoid roaming charges, and (2) I thought wifi coverage might be patchy). However, once we got down into the cistern, the size was breathtaking - a marvel of Roman engineering and quite magnificent.

The cistern is very nice to explore but considering it's one area, the price of admission is way too steep. Still a fun visit if you can get discounted tickets.
