Today the palace houses a spectacular museum with one of the largest collections of Chinese and Japanese porcelain. In addition, the museum features an extensive treasure collection of the Royal Family. The palace complex is located on the Seraglio Point, a promontory overlooking the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara, with the Bosphorus in plain sight. The treasury will be undergoing renovations beginning on the 30th of July 2016 and there will be no entry until it finishes.
Know Before You Go
Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesday and will not run on Tuesdays. The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sunday, but the tour will run.
