Catch the night bus to Ürgüp. Upon arrival walk through the Fairy Chimneys in Devrent Valley, and visit Paşabağ (Monks’) Valley. Practice pottery production with the ancient technique in Avanos, and visit the open-air museum in Göreme. Journey to Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region. Have dinner at the hotel and stay overnight.
Get a panoramic view of the Hospital Monastery. Walk through the Kızılçukur (Red Valley) and the village of Çavuşin, famous for its rock-cut dwellings. Explore the underground city of Kaymaklı. This unique city lies beneath the earth, where the early Christians used to hide from Roman persecution. Explore the rock formations in Çatalkaya, and receive a fantastic overview of the fairy chimneys from Esentepe. See Pigeon Valley – the greatest collection of pigeon nests in the world! Explore Derinkuyu underground city and walk through the spectacular Ihlara Valley. Stop for lunch at Belisırma. Visit the monasteries at Yaprakhisar and Selime. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Journey along the Mustafa Paşa, a place inhabited by Greek Orthodox families until the beginning of the 20th century. Walk through Damsa Lake. Visit Keşlik, and the Archangelos Monastery. After lunch visit Soğanlı. Here you can watch the local women baking bread. Drive to Taşkınpaşa for a wonderful panoramic view and Cemil, and see the famous Greek church. In the evening catch the return bus from Ürgüp to Istanbul where the tour will end.
