Full description
Your tour departs Inverness before traveling north, up to Loch Fleet to the village of Golspie. The village, situated on the north sea coast is nestled next to Ben Bhraggie and is an attractive little seaside resort complete with long sandy beaches. You will be able to spend time here for refreshments, before continuing on to Dunrobin Castle. A stately home in Sutherland, Dunrobin Castle is the family seat of Clan Sutherland. It resembles a French chateau with it’s towering spires, and overlooks the Moray Firth. You will spend time here exploring the beautiful stately home whilst enjoying some refreshments. You will then continue north through the Helmsdale Clearance to the Highland town of Wick for your lunch break. A former Viking settlement, Wick is the principal town in the far north of mainland Scotland. You can spend time exploring the town and taking in the views across Wick Bay whilst you enjoy your lunch. From Wick, you will then travel to John O’Groats; the most northerly point on British mainland. Here you’ll be able to stroll along the cliff path, take iconic photos at the signpost, and enjoy dramatic coastal views, perhaps even seeing some local wildlife! From John O’Groats, you will begin to make your way back to Inverness. You will travel to Dunbeath Harbor for photos, and to Brora, famous for its golf courses and magnificent coastal scenery.

The tour was with Chris as a guide and I was thrilled! The tour was filled with a lot of information about the country and its history, but also with a lot of regional information. He showed us many beautiful places, sometimes off the big streets. The visit to the castle is not binding, I had used the time for a short walk down to the sea and viewed the castle from its outward beauty. All in all a great and exciting tour.

An excellent way to spend the day and an excellent company to book!

The tour guide was absolutely excellent! We had some very poor weather conditions with low visibility, and our guide (Marita) made the days itinerary very flexible to maximize what good weather we managed to find. She was entertaining and knowledgable and didn't let the poor weather negatively affect our trip. The castle and gardens were stunning an the falconry display was breathtaking. Highly, highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful tour

We have already driven with 4 different tour operators but Timberbush is the best! He not only has the most interesting tours but also the best guides. First, they all speak English, which you can understand very well. Secondly, all the guides we have had so far are motivated and show interest in the tour participants. A particularly good example is Ryan. He accompanied us on the wonderful tour to John O Groats. Our group was dealt with and we had fantastic stops. On this trip, Ryan was as much a highlight as the landscape. I was very happy that this trip with Dunrobin Castle is offered. For me it is the most beautiful castle in Scotland. The sea stacks and bird colonies are unforgettable. A day that will be remembered.
