For mammals, the park is home to four of the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo). During the rainy season (late November to April) the landscape at Hwange will look completely different. The abundance of lush grazing areas means that animals disperse, and game viewing becomes more difficult. The birdlife during the rainy season is also excellent as the resident species are joined by a vast array of Palearctic and intra-African migrants. It is also the nesting season for the resident birds and a great time to see them in their colourful breeding plumage.

Beautiful place, shame it is 3 hours away from Vitória Falls, on a road full of potholes and very dangerous, heavy traffic of trucks with ore and coal. We went during the rainy season, so it wasn't possible to see many animals. We can see lots of elephants, zebras and deer. However, few giraffes and none (lion, hippo, buffalo, rhino, etc.). In any case, I recommend the tour. It leaves Victoria Falls at 6am, it takes around 3 hours to get to Hwange and another 3 hours to return, the Hwang tour lasts around 7 hours.

The pickup and transfer worked well. The safari was great and the lunch snack was very good. However, we still had to pay parking fees on site, which was not stated. Value for money you have to consider whether it is worth driving so far from victoria falls!? The park is beautiful and we saw great herds of elephants.

Lance was responsive, courteous, on time, and flexible. He is very knowledgeable, and I learned a great deal from him about the city, the country, its history, politics, as well as nature, wildlife, and everything else. I highly recommend Lance for private tours, from one to three persons. He keeps his car spotless.
